Americans traveling abroad are supposed to have the federal government on their side.
But the Biden administration is ready to throw them to the wolves in one foreign destination.
And a pro baseball player stranded overseas gave Joe Biden a reality check for this stunning betrayal.
Caribbean vacation hotspot arrests Americans over trivial amounts of ammunition
Five American tourists were arrested this year in the Turks and Caicos – a British overseas territory in the Caribbean – for possessing ammunition.
A law passed in the territory in 2022 made bringing guns or ammunition to the islands a minimum 12-year prison sentence.
The five American tourists arrested there had less than 20 bullets among all of them.
Small amounts of ammunition were forgotten in their luggage and it went unnoticed by Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents who inspected their bags.
The five Americans were arrested and detained on the islands while they awaited trial.
Normally, the State Department takes the lead when an American citizen traveling overseas is in a jam.
But the only action they took was to put out a warning not to travel with ammunition.
Two of the Americans were freed after a Congressional delegation led by U.S. Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) traveled to the Turks and Caicos to meet with officials about releasing them.
Former Turks and Caicos prisoner says the Biden administration didn’t care
Pennsylvania resident Bryan Hagerich was arrested in the Turks and Caicos in February for a trivial amount of ammunition
The former pro baseball player was freed after paying a $6,500 fine.
Hagerich said that he wasn’t sure if the Biden State Department was on his side or the Turks and Caicos during the ordeal.
“I wasn’t contacted by the State Department once I was detained for over two months, I think it was over 70 days,” Hagerich told Fox News Digital. “Once I was initially contacted, it was after the story had gathered national media attention.”
He said the State Department official who visited him on the islands wasn’t on his side.
“…An individual [with the State Department] that came to the island more or less kind of felt like a check-the-box-type exercise,” Hagerich recalled. “It was pretty clear in their mind that we committed a crime. We should essentially go to jail for that.”
Hagerich said the official joked with him about taking a boat back to the United States where they would have to let him in.
The encounter left him wondering whose side they were on.
“Which side of the table are they on? Are they on the U.S. side or are they on the Turks side?” Hagerich asked. “They didn’t have, really, anything to offer.”
Hagerich said a local cop told him his arrest was political.
“I can’t believe you’re still here. This has to be a money grab. This has to be political,” Hagerich recalled.
The safety and security of Americans abroad is supposed to be the State Department’s top priority.
But gun owners aren’t high on the priority list of President Joe Biden.
He was ready to move heaven and earth to free woke WNBA Brittney Griner when she was arrested in Russia for knowingly breaking the country’s drug laws.
Gun owners stuck in the Turks and Caicos couldn’t get anyone in the executive branch of the federal government under Joe Biden to lift a finger to help them.
