Ranges serve a very important purpose, allowing everyone to hone critical skills.
And they can be a hell of a lot of fun, too.
But you may never want to leave this next-level new range once you experience all its amenities.
This proposed shooting range combines some of the best things in life to create a unique experience
There are few things out there as American as a well-designed and well-run shooting range. Ranges allow you to test out recently purchased guns, practice on your favorite guns, or try guns you may want to purchase down the line.
Shooting ranges are also a great place to take your woman, your kids, or your friends. However, many shooting ranges can feel the same over time. After all, the name of the game is to hit a down-range target, regardless of which range you visit.
But the newly-proposed “Smok’d” range planned for a ritzy, Washington, D.C. suburb in Northern Virginia wants to shake things up. The individuals behind Smok’d submitted a permit application to Fairfax County, one of the wealthiest counties in America.
The application reveals that these entrepreneurs want to rethink what a shooting range can be. Not only would this range offer customers new and innovative opportunities to shoot guns, but it would also contain a smoking lounge.
Imagine shooting a brand-new, top-of-the-line AR before retreating to a cigar lounge to enjoy your favorite stogie. To many Americans, this sounds like nothing short of paradise.
However, the application notes that not just anybody can pop in. If you hope to use this range then you will likely have to sign up for a membership plan.
Sara Mariska, with the Odin, Feldman & Pittleman law firm, which represents the applicants, spoke out about the newly-proposed range to local outlet FFX Now.
“The range will offer a new indoor recreation and entertainment option in a convenient location that will provide recreational diversity in this part of Fairfax County,” Mariska told FFX Now.
FFX Now took a closer look at the proposed floor plan, reporting that “A preliminary floor plan shows seven 15-yard-long shooting bays, a viewing area, a lobby, a lounge, storage space and a vault, a kitchen, and humidors. The smoking lounge will have cigars and ‘cigar-related’ products for sale, but like the range, it’ll only be open to members, according to the application.”
As far as the proposed location goes, Smok’d hopes to put this cutting-edge shooting range in the middle of the jam-packed Tyson’s Corner area of Northern Virginia. In the last couple of decades, this area went from a busy intersection to a booming shopping and dining local, rife with upscale establishments catering to elites like military industrial complex lobbyists with pockets engorged by taxpayer-funded forever wars.
Still, potential customers could reach the location via Metro, given the proposed range’s proximity to the bustling Spring Hill Metro station. Plenty of parking options exist near the proposed range as well.
Smok’d could completely change the way many Americans practice shooting
If Smok’d has its permits approved, it could completely change the way many Americans view shooting ranges. Not only would this place allow members to practice shooting, but it would allow them to relax and wind down after a long day in the office.
Additionally, the proposed location of this range would allow people from all across Northern Virginia, Southern Maryland, and Washington, D.C., to get in on the action. But, all of this depends on whether Fairfax officials will approve the permit.
Barring Donald Trump and a Conservative-controlled Congress actually slashing the growth of government, Fairfax County is only likely to become even more densely populated. While local lawmakers there have become increasingly leftist as the population swelled, and therefore anti-gun, if they would approve a permit for any new gun-related business, this one seems like it could be it.
