Crime is completely out of control in California.

When the police are minutes away, residents have to defend themselves. 

And a Los Angeles woman stopped a home invader dead in his tracks after this scary encounter.

Los Angeles woman shoots man with knives trying to enter her house

Los Angeles, California, is in the middle of a massive crime wave after voters in the country elected Soros-backed district attorney George Gascon.

Criminals are emboldened because they know prosecutors will not enforce the law.

A man carrying multiple knives was shot and killed by a woman outside her home in Monrovia, a suburban community in the San Gabriel Valley.

By the time the police arrived, the man was dead.

“(The man) went to the residence armed with knives, attempted to stab the white female adult and white male adult, and to stop the threat the white female adult discharged a firearm,” the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement. “The female adult and male adult provided voluntary statements and were not arrested.”

The knife-wielding man violated a restraining order against the woman and tried to stab her and another man at the residence.

Now the case is in the hands of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau.

A neighbor breaks down what happened with defensive gun use

Neighbor Paulette Polk shares a driveway with the home where the shooting occurred in Monrovia.

“It’s a little traumatizing, I’m not gonna lie,” Polk said. “I went outside, and I saw him in the driveway, and the police escorted me into the house to ask me questions about what was going on.”

Polk said that the woman had lived at the home with her teenage daughter for about six months.

The man who was killed was identified as 42-year-old Thanh Cong Le by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.

Polk said that she thought that Le was the woman’s boyfriend and that she had seen him at the home before.

“He did not live there, I had minimal experience with him,” Polk said. “But, it was not pleasant, just saying.”

Neighbors were stunned to see a scene like that unfold in the sleepy town.

“We heard just the one ‘pop’ and my wife was getting ready for bed, and she goes, ‘was that a gunshot?’ And I was like,’I think that was.’ Then we saw the police cars kind of speeding past. There are nine of them, and we’re like, that’s not, you know, this is Monrovia and nothing happens,” a neighbor told Fox 11.

A knife was discovered by neighbors in the driveway where Le was found.

“Nothing ever happens here. And it’s just so crazy that something they thought would happen. It’s sad,” another neighbor said.

A gun is the great equalizer for women in self-defense in situations against men who are bigger and stronger than them.

Being armed leveled the playing field for the woman against a man who was armed with knives and ready to hurt her.
