Joe Biden and his allies in Washington, D.C., have worked tirelessly to expand their power and authority.
They’d likely get away scot-free with one scheme in particular.
But Ron DeSantis just made an announcement that has Biden officials shaking with rage.
Joe Biden’s latest anti-gun power grab has been met with fierce resistance
Throughout the course of human history, the granting of emergency powers has allowed authoritarian leaders to gain considerable influence and authority.
Doing so allows the ruler to dismiss the laws in place, often trouncing on the personal liberties of the people he claims to represent.
Joe Biden for example has made a career out of capitalizing on such power grabs.
Earlier this week for example, Biden appointed Surgeon General Vivek Murthy declared so-called “gun violence” as a public health crisis.
Doing so gives the Biden administration more power to tackle this matter, allowing them to work around the Second Amendment with ease.
Soon after defining gun violence as a public health crisis, conservative lawmakers across the nation started to fight back.
In Florida for example, Governor Ron DeSantis made it very clear that he would not recognize this new guidance, and would not participate in any policy changes that come with it.
On Wednesday, Governor DeSantis took to X, telling Floridians, “During COVID, unelected bureaucrats used “public health” as a pretext to deprive citizens of their rights– and I signed legislation to protect Floridians from government overreach.”
“Now, Biden’s Surgeon General is attempting to violate the Second Amendment through the “public health” bureaucracy. We will not comply. Florida will always reject the Biden Administration’s unconstitutional power-grabs,” the defiant governor added.
Randy Kozuch, executive director of the National Rifle Association echoed these concerns, posting on X, “This is an extension of the Biden administration’s war on law-abiding gun owners.”
Kozuch pointed to raising crime rates, tweeting that, “America has a crime problem caused by criminals. The reluctance to prosecute and punish criminals on the part of President (Joe) Biden and many of his allies is the primary cause of that.”
As DeSantis and Kozuch pointed out on X, Murthy’s guidance not only misses the mark when it comes to lowering crime rates, but it also opens the door for the Biden administration to seize even more control.
During the pandemic, the Biden administration and despotic lawmakers across America assumed mind-boggling amounts of power, giving them unprecedented control over businesses, churches, and the everyday lives of the people they claim to represent.
Many fear that Murthy’s announcement will result in the implementation of radical gun control measures, without the approval of Congress.
Such power grabs would completely shred the Second Amendment and the constitutional system of checks and balances, designed to ensure that no single branch of government becomes too powerful.
As it stands, the executive branch already has far more power than the other two branches given the enormous size of the federal bureaucracy.
Joe Biden’s attempt to circumvent the constitution could have political consequences
Few presidents have attacked the rights of gun owners quite like Joe Biden has.
He’s doing so even as crime continues to skyrocket all across America, largely due to the pro-crime policies supported by the White House.
The bottom line is that Joe Biden’s plan to disarm law-abiding gun owners will do absolutely nothing to reduce gun violence, since criminals by definition do not respect the law.
This would leave law-abiding gun owners, aka Joe Biden’s political enemies, as sitting ducks. Of course, that’s likely the point.
