Joe Biden is leading an all-out assault on the constitutional rights of Americans.
Now a foreign government wants to give him assistance.
And Clarence Thomas can shut down this awful scheme by Mexico against Americans’ freedom.
Mexico is suing American gunmakers over the cartel violence in their country
Mexico has been dealing with serious violence from the country’s drug cartels for nearly 20 years.
Many of the Mexican drug cartels have become multibillion-dollar global criminal enterprises.
The Mexican government refuses to pursue any serious crack down on them and the country is riddled with corruption.
Instead of trying to solve the country’s problems, the Mexican government filed a lawsuit against American gunmakers to hold them liable for cartel violence in Mexico with their guns.
They’re also asking American courts to ban AR and AK platforms.
Ruger, Colt, Smith & Wesson, Barrett, and others that are named in the Mexican officials’ lawsuit.
American guns are an easy scapegoat for the Mexican government because they have no interest in seriously addressing the problem.
A federal judge in Massachusetts threw out Mexico’s frivolous lawsuit but it was appealed with the support of California and other anti-gun states.
Holding gunmakers legally liable for the criminal misuse of their weapons opens the door to suing them into bankruptcy.
Democrats have pushed to remove the legal immunity for gunmakers to bury them in an avalanche of lawsuits.
And subvert the Second Amendment.
Supreme Court is being asked to stop Mexico’s scam lawsuit against gunmakers
27 Republican Attorneys General filed an amicus brief with the Supreme Court, requesting that the justices take up the Mexican government’s lawsuit against American gunmakers.
They asked the high court to hear the case to prevent “a foreign sovereign’s use of American courts to effectively limit the rights of American citizens.”
Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen (R) wrote that “anti-gun activists” are behind the Mexican government’s case.
“Congress has long taken a measured and carefully calibrated approach to firearms regulation. It sought to balance the public’s Second Amendment rights with the need to keep guns away from criminals. Anti-gun activists wanted more,” the brief states.
The brief explained that the anti-gun lobby is using the legal system to bypass Congress to accomplish their political goal.
Anti-gun activists are hoping to find a way to subvert the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act which protects gunmakers from civil liability for the misuse of their weapons.
The Republican Attorneys General pointed out that Congress gave gunmakers that protection because the Second Amendment becomes “all-but-meaningless if firearms manufacturers were put out of business.”
They added that Mexico’s crime problems are a result of the country’s policy decisions, not American guns.
“Mexico is a sovereign nation. It controls its own borders. Mexico could simply close – indeed, militarize – its border with the United States if it chose to do so,” the brief noted.
“Mexico should not be permitted to exert de facto control over the rights of American citizens to alleviate the consequences of its own policy choices,” the brief concluded.
The Supreme Court has the opportunity to slam the door shut on this backdoor attempt to subvert the Second Amendment rights of Americans.
