Democrats aren’t taking their foot off the gas pedal after Donald Trump’s conviction in a kangaroo court.
Now they’re using Trump’s conviction to continue their witch hunt against him.
And Americans are furious to stop this post-conviction injustice against Donald Trump.
Donald Trump loses his concealed carry privileges after Manhattan conviction
Former President Donald Trump was convicted of 34 felonies made up by Soros-backed Manhattan District Alvin Bragg in a Soviet-style show trial.
Democrats were jubilant that they could label him a “convicted felon” to use as an attack on the campaign trail.
Trump is no longer allowed to legally possess firearms in New York after his felony conviction.
The New York City Police Department is going to revoke the former President’s concealed carry permit as a result of his conviction.
His concealed carry permit was suspended on April 1, 2023, after he was indicted by Bragg.
Two handguns he was licensed to carry in New York were turned over to the New York City Police Department last March.
A third handgun he was licensed to carry was legally moved to Florida, according to CNN.
Trump has the protection of the Secret Service, but stripping him of his right to keep and bear arms is another injustice from the Bragg witch hunt.
Now gun rights groups are ready and willing to defend the former President’s Second Amendment rights.
Gun rights groups ready to fight on behalf of Donald Trump’s Second Amendment rights
A gun rights group is willing to sue the New York Police Department to stop them from stripping Trump of his concealed carry permit.
Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) founder and Executive Vice President Alan M. Gottlieb said his group is ready to go to court to fight to defend Trump’s right to possess a firearm.
“If Donald Trump is further prosecuted for owning firearms,” Gottlieb said. “We will offer to defend him and challenge the law.”
Gottlieb said that the SAF has always advocated for the right of someone convicted of a non-violent crime to be able to possess a firearm.
Federal law prevents felons from possessing firearms.
But the SAF founder said that Trump “should not lose his Second Amendment rights.”
“Donald Trump has no history of violent crime,” Gottlieb explained. “Under the Supreme Court’s 2022 Bruen ruling, which requires gun laws to have some analogous connection to historical regulation at the time the Founders wrote the Constitution and Bill of Rights, Mr. Trump should not lose his Second Amendment rights.”
He added that Trump’s situation shows the need for legislation to correct this situation.
“The attack on Trump’s gun rights emphasizes the need to revisit existing gun control laws and change them to protect an individual’s gun rights,” Gottlieb observed. “Until that happens, we will be more than happy to meet New York State or the federal government in court.”
SAF has ample experience litigating Second Amendment cases in state and federal courts.
“Our motto is ‘Winning Gun Rights One Lawsuit at a Time,’” Gottlieb stated. “That will include protecting and winning Donald Trump’s gun rights.”
SAF Executive Director Adam Kraut said that the group has sued to restore the gun rights of people convicted of nonviolent crimes in the past.
Donald Trump’s unjust conviction could give SAF an opening to go on the offensive with a lawsuit against New York’s draconian gun laws.
